Benefits

Learning Through Play

Yes kids learn through play and what better play can there be than running, jumping and tumbling? While they are doing what they do best we are busy promoting leadership, social skills, work values, competition, fair play, respect of self and others and can you believe it, relaxation!

Work Ethic

As a father of a Gymnast I can tell you the odd feeling it is when you see your child “veging out” in front of the TV” and say, “good for you, you deserve it.”

Superior Academic Achievement

The adage “when you want to get something done ask a busy person to do it”  could have been coined at AGC. We have so many busy athletes with above average grades that there is not a doubt in my mind that the disciplines we promote come through in all aspects of their lives.

Can you imagine a birthday party with 11, 13 year olds, each one a finely tuned athlete and honor student. I knew then as parents we were doing something right!

Cross Training – Other Sports

Gymnastics may not be everyone’s cup of tea but there is place for gymnastics in every sport. My youngest was with AGC from age 6 to 10 and then moved on to aggressive roller blading. Within a few months he was doing front flips, back flips with a twist and layouts, When he skates in public he is regularly asked to join sponsored teams.  Not a product of superior genes but rather the product of solid athletic skills acquired right here at AGC. You should see what it does for dance and snowboarding. Your child can develop skills that will make them stars among their peers in whatever sport or activity they choose to pursue.

Want To Be In The Movies?

Want to be in the movies? How about TV. Without knowing it you have probably seen a number of our young athletes in the movies and on TV. It makes sense, our young athletes are use to performing and being evaluated. They can process feedback, are in excellent physical condition, can be relied upon and are certainly not shy about speaking out or performing in public. Skills for life time!

Coaching

All staff at Altadore are certified through the National Coaching Certification Program. It is also a requirement that all staff be certified in Standard First Aid and CPR.

Kids have fun at AGC, that’s a given, but when it comes to coaching we don’t fool around. Altadore Gymnastic Club employs accredited coaches and provides world class equipment for safety and performance. There is no cutting corners here! Our head coaches may be considered among Canada’s elite but you will have a hard time picking them out. because our vertically integrated coaching model sees even our most experienced coaches working with everyone from beginner to Olympian. We attract the best Canadian coaches and through their fine efforts operate a men’s and women’s program that rivals our USA and European counterparts.

All AGC coaches are paid professionals and some have grown with the children from the child’s first step through the door at age 5 to their Olympic debut at ages 18 and 20. We are committed to the sport and the development and well being of our young athletes.

Our Operating Budget
